Review on Mediabridge Ultra Series 2ft Digital Audio Coaxial Cable - Dual Shielded RCA to RCA Gold-Plated Connectors - Black (Part# CJ02-6BR-G2) by Kristy Young

Excellent quality cable. Improved my listening experience many times over!

I recently purchased a used Emotiva A5175 (125w) amplifier to power my Marantz SR 5011 (100w) receiver. First I used a regular RCA cable to connect the receiver and the amplifier. I connect only 3 speakers (front left, front right and center) through the amp and run 2 surround speakers and a subwoofer straight through the receiver. I have SVS Pinnacle Prime on the front and SVS Ultra Center (also SVS Prime BookShelf for surround and PB-2000 for subwoofer. This is my setup). So as soon as I hooked up the speakers through the Emotiva amp, I could tell the difference. in sound. Many instruments previously muted in the music came to life. Also, my 5.1 movie settings have greatly improved, especially the audio from the center speaker for dialogue. So I was very happy with the money I spent on the amp. But something told me the sound could have been better, and I realized that the weakest link in my entire setup was the RCA cable (I use 12-gauge oxygen-free copper wire to connect the speakers). I decided to buy 3 new gold plated RCA cables to see if my system could be improved. So I bought a FosPower RCA cable here at Revain and also this Mediabridge cable. When I connected the receiver and amplifier with a FosPower cable, I noticed a slight difference in the overall sound quality. Then I tried this Mediabridge. Dude!, it really "revealed" the speakers, so to speak. I heard the instruments much better, with very high fidelity. I know it's only an $8 cord, so of course the rest of my setup was fine. But if you have a weak link in your entire system, such as a simple RCA cable connecting your receiver's pre-out to your amplifier, using a good quality RCA cable will really benefit your entire system. This Mediabridge cable is of excellent quality, well shielded and transfers the audio signal perfectly. I highly recommend these cables. A fantastic and inexpensive upgrade for your audio system if you primarily want to connect your receiver to an amplifier. Do not use cheap cables as this can damage your entire system. For me, the sound quality has improved by at least 20-25%, and $8 per cable is one of the cheapest things I've done to improve my home theater sound.
