I bought one of those cheap $25 gauge sets with hoses and after one use the gauge broke trying to recalibrate the gauges after the first use. I decided not to argue with the seller as the return period was over 30 days so I ordered this one as the hoses were not supplied and I still had the hoses from the previous cheap kit which were fine just the sensors broke with it. After one or more uses it held up well, definitely better quality and manufactured sensors. So if you want to make your own modifications with cheap $25-30 gauge kits with hoses, do it, and if they fail you like they did for me or mine, I highly recommend buying this one and the hoses to use with cheap set that broke with it, they will fit if you get the right coolant which is R134a. You'll still have an edge with a quality gauge (and the hoses from the previous set that came with the broken gauge) than if you buy one of the more expensive gauge sets that come with the hoses.
