I wanted to put something light on top of my chunky frog tank to accommodate this little tomato friend as space is expensive in our small house. I took a chance on this largest acrylic tank and am happy with it so far! It took some time to peel off because the acrylic panels don't want to peel off and the paper film doesn't want to come off. on separate satisfactory sheets, but rips around all the holes and edges of the connecting pieces of the puzzle. I make acrylic pendants as part of my art business, so peeling off acrylic is something I'm used to, but when you're not doing it it can be slightly frustrating. Box, except when it comes to the top "lock" tabs which are screwed to the lid, they basically just show the picture: part of the tab + screw + an undefined area that could be the lid or the side , which sounds like it would have sufficed, but since the tab in the picture was pointing in a completely different direction than it actually is, it gave me a few moments to resolve the issue. However, this was not a big problem. I placed a sheet of clear plastic in the bottom of the tank and folded a few inches toward each wall to form a "bowl," as I wasn't entirely sure how well this thing would work. Keep the water around the seams if Mr. Motato decided to go for a big splash swim time or for any other reason the water has spilled that far. You can also just use some aquarium silicone sealant if you need something more permanent/effective, but this solution means I can break it again if I want to. The temperature/humidity sensor seems to be very slow. He said it was 77 degrees for most of the day after taking it out of the box, despite being in the 71-degree region. For some reason it was already in the package and it was about 77 outside where the box was left so it was probably stuck thinking it was the temp due to the slow reading. It says 74 degrees this morning, which is more likely considering we have about 71 degrees in our house, and it has a tiny hermit crab heater on the opposite side that should shift the heat a bit. But I'm not sure how accurate that is. % humidity changes much more easily. All in all, don't worry too much about this as these things are pretty cheap to replace. I love the almost seamless look of the acrylic tank, it gives the whole setup a very clean/crisp look that looks way better than the alternative in my opinion. Glass with front doors and a big black stripe on top, bottom and center (Exo-Terra and Zilla styles) which is what I usually ride with. Of course it's not that difficult, but for an elevated bachelor pad it was the right reservoir. Note that if you need to heat them you will need a HERMIT CRAB under the tank heater. These are the only UTHs approved for use with plastic/acrylic tanks. Other heaters can damage acrylic and even emit bad odors if they get too hot. So far the hermit crab heater I bought from petco for $13 has worked well under an elevated tank. Overall this was a great purchase, it's one of the largest acrylic tanks you can get on Amazon and comes with the required heat/humidity sensor. looks smart and the price is good for what you get. Most importantly, my grumpy little boy seems happy!
