A friend had one and offered to take a look. Bought to put on the boat while we are away several months of the year. There is no internet at the pier so it wasn't possible to connect a real one. It looks real and the little red flashing light makes it even more believable. We didn't want to drive screws into the fiberglass, so we sealed it with double-sided tape. This creates a tiny gap between the surfaces, but unless you look closely it's not noticeable. It doesn't protect against hardened criminals, but kids on the pier and bystanders will think twice when they see it. We put the included security decal on the door and adjusted the flashing light to be clearly visible from the boat's boarding point. Even if there is no real security, it looks like it.
