I used it to screw into a frame in the ceiling. ceiling, it's a trick to make sure it's completely flush with the ceiling when screwed all the way in. To do this, you must drill the pilot hole absolutely plumb. This is difficult when you are upside down and looking at the ceiling. When you screw it in, the base of the hook will likely have a slight gap on one side since your pilot hole wasn't 100% plumb. It was easily fixed with some caulking and now it looks perfect. To screw this into the frame, you have to hold the hook and turn it. I'm pretty sure that if I hadn't been careful enough, the resistance of the wooden frame would have been greater than the strength of the metal hook, causing the hook to break. It would be better if the screw had a notch so it could be screwed into the frame like a Phillips head screw and THEN the user could screw in a real hook. So be careful or put some soap on the hook screw before inserting it into the frame.
