Helps with ineffective flushing!

My parents don't run the air conditioning at all in the summer. On the days they run it, it's not as effective at keeping the house cool. The sun shines on your room and living room during the hottest part of the day. Because of this, her room is hotter than the rest of the house. I decided to buy this for them because last year I suggested they use a dark blanket to protect them from the sun. They did that all summer, but not this year. Your room also faces the toll road, so I can comment on that, and we don't have soundproof windows. I have to say right away that my father loves these curtains. He prefers to use them to take naps during the day as he sometimes works night shifts and sleeps during the day. At the brightest time of day, the sun is likely to be blocked 95% by these curtains, while 4% is coming up and down through the sides and the last 1% is coming out through the fabric. My parents don't have blinds. help with everything. Since I bought them a chocolate color to match their room and not black I think they have more room for light. Black absorbs color best. So if you are very sensitive to light and don't care about looks, go for black. Unless you're picky, brown comes in handy when trying to match a space. As for the heat, I'd say the upstairs part of our house got a lot cooler just by turning the lights off. I don't think you can turn off the light without turning off the heat. Since it's not made of double layers or any special material, I don't think the fabric itself dissipates heat as much as some would hope. Does it cut off the heat? Yes. Does it work as insulation? NO. Regarding the audio, I mentioned that we live across from a toll road. This claims to reject a lot of noise, but I think it's very similar to the heat situation, where it muffles the sound a bit just because you're leaning it against a window. I walked into my parents' room and through the open window I could still hear cars speeding by. If I closed the window the noise would surely go away. Since we have lived in our house for over twenty years, the noise of the cars is almost like white noise for my parents. They're so used to the blinds no longer mattering. I didn't buy this to block noise, but it helps a little. I bought it to block the light and *help* with the heat. I didn't buy it for the soundproofing but I got some of it. Can I say that this product has met my expectations? Yes. My parents don't have to worry that their room is a sauna if they don't turn on the air conditioner, and if they do, it works more efficiently because there are curtains.
