Good design, technique and instructions

Many knitters have problems with the finishing technique. Blocking and sewing garments and finishing a piece that fits is another skill entirely different from knitting. Fitted Jersey solves this problem with a top-down design. Knitting top down allows the knitter to adjust the fit as they knit. Blocking and sticking are reduced by eighty percent. This allows the knitter to end up with a piece that can actually be worn. Japel's instructions are clear and concise and easy to follow. I linked two things from this book. A I didn't follow the installation instructions as closely as I should have and had to repeat and repeat at times. The second try on this sweater was perfect. My second completed project was perfect the first time and I get lots of compliments wearing this sweater. The design is a beautiful mix of vintage and modern styles, using yarns that are readily available and fit any budget. The yarn change is simplified by good thickness information. I have owned this book for four years now and intend to make more garments from the collection and techniques have been added to my knitting knowledge. Highly recommended.
