Good value for backyard mechanics

I bought this to work on my family's cars. specifically mine immediately (Mini Clubman S 2010). I opened the package, looked for something important in the instructions, registered it and plugged it into my machine. No problems with the interface (it's quite simple). My first diagnostic scan gave me a TON of information, most of which pointed to a low battery. I replaced the battery and cleared the codes for it and some codes from a previous repair I did and over 2 weeks later none of the codes have come back. That diagnosis and repair would cost me a pretty penny if I took it to the dealer. or indeed any service center. The NT706 has basically paid for itself. It was very easy to get the codes, fix the problem and clear the codes. In fact, I haven't found a reason to buy any of their more expensive models yet. That does everything I need. Good: - LIFETIME FREE UPDATES! Reason enough to buy this scanner. The user interface is pretty easy to use. The Auto VIN feature is handy. I hate entering VIN numbers. Easily save and retrieve saved reports. Eyes - Packed with many features, many of which I haven't used yet. The Bad: - Printing can be a bit confusing. In fact, I haven't figured out how to print directly to a printer yet. However, I can email the PDF diagnostic file to my email account and print it from there. So now I have a simple workaround. I only give 4 stars for "Ease of Use" because printing is a pretty important feature. I really don't have anything else to focus on with this scanner. This is a RELIABLE product. Needless to say I am very happy with the NT706 and would highly recommend it to any DIY enthusiast or aspiring professional. There are many features that I haven't used yet and I'd say it's worth it. I will be contacting support regarding printing features in the near future and will update this review and support rating.
