Food jars and canisters explanation
I have seen several people complain that these canisters are not stainless steel because they will rust. The problem is that they are made from high carbon stainless steel (400 series) which means they can rust. They are corrosion resistant but not corrosion resistant. That being said, if they have rust, you can use stainless steel brushes or a washcloth to remove the rust. Personally I haven't had any issues with them and my only complaint is that the locking system is a little loose, but they are still functional and aesthetically pleasing.
