My F150 has a very heavy tailgate with a built in step so it really made sense to add a gas strut. This kit worked exactly as described and provided a good delay when lowering the tailgate. The only real complaint I have is the torx wrench that comes with the kit, it's rubbish. I managed to use it but had to be very careful to keep it straight with the screw head. After installing the threaded insert, be sure to apply blue Loctite or another screw lock to the screw! I hope this will help the Threaded Insert stick and last a long time. (We will see). Read the instructions and do not overtighten the Insert. I marked the tool with a marker so I could count the number of turns to install it. 9 turns no more. It didn't really feel like it was very tight/confined, but it didn't move.
