    Easy to install best in lifting legs

    the product arrived in a day. It was pretty easy to install once I figured out how to use the screw insertion tool. Works great so far

    Great price for a great idea

    The part that screws into the tailgate is not fully tightened but works fine, a bit loose. This works well for lowering the tailgate but makes it harder to raise. I'll look at the ones behind the taillight to see if they make lifting easier.

    Cool addition to shocks, struts and suspension

    Worked great. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. After understanding how the nut works, there were no problems. I like that. I can't understand why this isn't standard on every tailgate. It's one of those things, when you have it, you're mad you didn't get it when you bought your first truck years ago.

    Works the way you want it.

    Spacer screw/nut does not have good instructions. While holding the bolt with an allen wrench, measure 3/4 in. and turn the nut 9 turns to expand the insert. (I had to crimp the insert lightly to get it into the tailgate slot.) Very easy install after that and works to bring the tailgate down at a good pace. I hope he survives.

    Why Have I Waited So Long! I ordered this tailgate helper for my 13 F150 and am glad I did. Good things first.1. Perfect fit.2. Works great.3. Looks OEM. Now for the bad. The instructions need to be rewritten. Installing the nut is very easy once you figure out that after adjusting the length and inserting into the tailgate, hold the SCREW and turn the LOCKING NUT. this installation takes about 5 minutes. That's great.

    Terrible Directions

    Yes the shock works and it's only $20. Then why did I give 3 stars? First, the instructions are terrible and a bit vague. Well, maybe it's just me, but I'm mechanical by nature, but I had to scratch my head for a bit trying to figure out how to install this thing. Second, the torx wrench that came with the kit is useless, really throw it away. Don't try to use it, you'll just ruin the torx impact screw head! The locking bolt has been on my F150 since 2013. always in place. It took a friend with

    Overall a good product.

    This kit is very easy to install. This is the second one I had to buy. Problem with the lower ball joint. Fastening is via a plate with nut/wall anchor, type of installation. You will need to use this special washer and ball bearing tool to tighten the nut in the bottom hole in the tailgate. As the tailgate wears over time, the nut plate will loosen and eventually break in the tailgate. The only way to fix this is to cut off the ball mount itself with a hacksaw and drill out the rest of the…

    Use thread lock! Works as expected

    My F150 has a very heavy tailgate with a built in step so it really made sense to add a gas strut. This kit worked exactly as described and provided a good delay when lowering the tailgate. The only real complaint I have is the torx wrench that comes with the kit, it's rubbish. I managed to use it but had to be very careful to keep it straight with the screw head. After installing the threaded insert, be sure to apply blue Loctite or another screw lock to the screw! I hope this will help the…
