Yes the shock works and it's only $20. Then why did I give 3 stars? First, the instructions are terrible and a bit vague. Well, maybe it's just me, but I'm mechanical by nature, but I had to scratch my head for a bit trying to figure out how to install this thing. Second, the torx wrench that came with the kit is useless, really throw it away. Don't try to use it, you'll just ruin the torx impact screw head! The locking bolt has been on my F150 since 2013. always in place. It took a friend with a 400ft impact wrench and a small flashlight to loosen the firing pin, so plan for that. If you don't have these two tools, I would recommend taking the kit to your mechanic for installation. Much luck!
