This kit is very easy to install. This is the second one I had to buy. Problem with the lower ball joint. Fastening is via a plate with nut/wall anchor, type of installation. You will need to use this special washer and ball bearing tool to tighten the nut in the bottom hole in the tailgate. As the tailgate wears over time, the nut plate will loosen and eventually break in the tailgate. The only way to fix this is to cut off the ball mount itself with a hacksaw and drill out the rest of the mount. This is the only part I needed from the new kit I ordered. The device works perfectly, that's my only criticism. If I had the manufacturer information I would try to order just the bottom bracket and nut assembly.
