I bought this to replace an ATI era HD 4850 graphics card. Yes, the graphics card is from 2008 if I remember correctly. In any case, it was clear to me that just buying a budget card would bring a significant improvement. Finally, the ATI 4850 came out with only 512MB of RAM! Yes, it's MB, not GB. After searching the internet for a new graphics card, I was shocked. I suspect something called bitcoin mining is driving the demand for graphics cards insanely high right now. The date is 05/04/2018 when I write this. However, I needed a graphics card and didn't want to sell my soul for it. When I realized that 1060 is too much, I went for 1050 ti, not 1050. Reason. I wanted 4GB of RAM. instead of the 2GB that comes with the non-Ti version. I got burned for not buying enough RAM, but never for buying too much. So I did a search and it seemed to me that the 1050 ti series appears to be more expensive than the suggested retail price due to this mining. However, I found this card to be the best value for money and I had heard of ASUS before as I owned many of their motherboards and knew they made quality products. With limited stock and prices that seemed to be increasing every day, I placed my order at 216 and it arrived a few days later. I installed the card with no problems and I liked that I didn't have to use an external power cord for the graphics card like I did with the ATI Radeon 4850. I needed the performance of my old 2008 4850 card. Nice job Nvidia! Anyway, now I can play (WOT) World of Tanks at over 100 fps when using near highest settings. With this map, the new maps in patch 1.0 look amazing. I plan to download more games once I recover my Steam password. However, I'm satisfied, even though it's not the most powerful graphics card, it plays many games perfectly even if you can't play them with maximum video settings. Hopefully this lasts until graphics card prices drop. sad what is happening in the world of graphics cards! I just checked and the cheapest card I can get seems to be $267. :( The price has gone up that much in about 1 week. Anyway, time will tell if this card holds up, but I'm fine with that, although I'm a little annoyed that I had to pay a higher price than you would do it when it wasn't. Be careful and hope this helps!
