They definitely work with soundproofing foam. You just have to install it properly. 1.) Peel off one side of the command strip and place it on one of the top corners of the foam piece. Repeat for the opposite bottom corner. (As pictured.) 2.) Press both strips firmly against the foam by pinching thumb and finger together for 10 seconds. This will not damage or alter the foam. 3.) Clean the other side of the command bars. Place it on the desired location on the wall and press FIRMLY on the wall for at least 10 seconds. Be sure to apply this pressure directly over the command strip. Again, the styrofoam or your wall will not be damaged. Works perfectly! I've had no issues with the soundproofing falling off or not sticking. Just follow the instructions and you will get great results. Hope that helps!
