I am returning this item. I haven't used this item so I can't comment on how it works. I understand that only if you buy DIRECT FROM APPLE are you allowed to sell Apple certified refurbished devices that have the same warranties as the original devices. I had a friend tell me this yesterday and I called Apple to check and they confirmed it. For me, saving less than $20 isn't worth the risk. There's nothing wrong with selling a third-party refurbished product, but it shouldn't be advertised as "certified refurbished" unless Apple is authorized to certify something. Apple traditionally offers a 10-20% discount due to strict testing standards.
