. I bought 4 different modems to choose the best one. Netgear

I bought 4 different modems to see which is the best. Netgear, TP-Link, Linksys and Apple. Not even close. Apple connected in seconds and was up to over 200Mbps within minutes. Netgear and TP Link I had to call customer service but the speed didn't go over 100Mbps. Apple is great and easy to set up in seconds.

Pros
  • Feel Good
Cons
  • Fading

Best WiFi Router/Extender.

Apple has outdone itself with the AirPort Extreme Base Station. It's so easy to set up, even a dead man can do it. I have had numerous Wi-Fi routers and extenders and this one has the best coverage yet, stronger than advertised signal and speed. I have no idea why Apple has stopped production. They're hard to find, but when you see them, BUY IT!

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Good, but not great

Rock. Expensive only when your time has no value.

Seems overpriced, but they keep ticking! Some cons: Need an Apple app to manage settings, it's high, firmware is good but not as good as some of the open source ones (DD-WRT etc.). But you get a high-speed guest network with your own IP address. Band, 5 and 2.4 GHz networks. The other day I saw a 250 Mbps download (I have a fast connection) over 802.11ac. I haven't seen it in a news article about compromised devices like devices from other manufacturers, so it has a good security record.

  • Fingers crossed

  • A few little things

Why did Apple discontinue this router?

This one is getting more expensive because Apple stopped making them. I don't know why Apple stopped making this solid product but I don't think it makes them enough money. I hope they revive it in the future. Apple products are known for their reliability and durability, and routers are no exception. I previously had an airport express and wanted to take advantage of dual band and faster Wi-Fi speeds to make my 100Mbps internet worth the money. I got my airport four years ago and it's still…

Took less than 4 months

Took less than 4 months so repair was poor quality. At first it worked fine. Suddenly the light started flashing orange and Apple Utility reported it was overheating. The next day, he began making an intermittent buzz every two seconds. Then the fan accelerated to maximum and let out a loud howl. The seller will not replace it because the warranty period has expired 90 days (for three weeks). I feel like I was sold a defective item so I'm giving it one star. I have the same router elsewhere…

This is not an Apple "certified recovery ".

I am returning this item. I haven't used this item so I can't comment on how it works. I understand that only if you buy DIRECT FROM APPLE are you allowed to sell Apple certified refurbished devices that have the same warranties as the original devices. I had a friend tell me this yesterday and I called Apple to check and they confirmed it. For me, saving less than $20 isn't worth the risk. There's nothing wrong with selling a third-party refurbished product, but it shouldn't be advertised as…

Little different from the new one

I've had two of these since they came out and I need a third. Of course, Apple no longer sells them, but this "updated" device is very close to the new one. It's even packaged identically to the original equipment, down to all those little removable plastic protectors. The only thing that gives it away as not brand new is that the (original) packaging is a bit tattered at the corners. Impressive restoration work, of course. Functionally everything looks fine --- I noticed that the firmware…

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • I have no negative feelings about it, it's ok

ok I have a router #1 in 2016 – Asus RT-AC88U. Then why did I buy it? I had one with 3TB drives and an Asus router to increase my WiFi speed and help me better control what my kids do online. After Asus blocked for the fourth time and provided slower internet than I could count, I desperately ordered another Airport Extreme and installed it as soon as it arrived. I had no performance or connectivity issues. Yes, I lose the ability to customize all features and I lose ultra-fast wireless speeds,
