Hay feeders are smaller than I expected. However, everything works fine with the supplied spare/second hay pan. Very durable, easy to clean and install/remove the feeder. The only thing to note is that the metal spring used to hold the hay in place is very firm (which is good for keeping the hay in place), but at the same time, be careful of yours Fingers as they can get trapped under the metal spring fittings. Does it reduce/stop clutter? The hay feeder doesn't prevent the mess, but the most important thing is that the hay stays clean
