Stay-Tough Spandex Hood for Manes Review

First I ordered the XL and it was barely big enough for my 16 hour QH, almost too small, but we decided to give it a try. Well it took 2 days to get the stitches snapped and a reel in his stall and he was wrapped around his neck with a broken breast clip. Spend a few bucks more and get a better hood.

I had to go up a size for my 15 hand painted mare. I left the first one for my two year old. I washed both and the seams started leaking before my eyes which I can fix but I'm not very happy. They were also red all over the washing machine so make sure you do that before using them and with dark colors.

I wish I could give 0 stars. I ordered Large because it's the size my daughter's horse wears. However, keep in mind that my daughter shows horses and spends an average of an hour and a half tying up the unruly manes of her horses. We used it at our first show of the season and thankfully one of their team members came back to water the horses an hour after we left because it was all on his neck. The size is VERY inappropriate. If your horse wears large you may need XXL when ordering this.

Returned it for a refund, won't want another until they decide to use a zip that is STRONG ENOUGH FOR A 1000 LB HORSE is. THEN this should be a great thing but with this COMPLETELY INACCURATE ZIPPER I don't think it will last more than a few wears like me. Otherwise the product seems good, I don't understand? but don't buy it, you will be disappointed if this SMALL zipper breaks.

I needed fast delivery, not too expensive hood for a sick horse and it fit the bill. It's very small - size XL fits around the belly and nose of my 15.2 TB gelding. It stretches but doesn't flex much in the bow, and the top band has a fairly short max length. The rest of the material is elastic and still keeps its shape.
