Review on Stay-Tough Spandex Hood for Manes by Valerie Sullivan

I needed fast delivery, not too expensive hood for a sick horse and it fit the bill. It's very small - size XL fits around the belly and nose of my 15.2 TB gelding. It stretches but doesn't flex much in the bow, and the top band has a fairly short max length. The rest of the material is elastic and still keeps its shape. It stays on the horse - he wore it for 48 hours and it wouldn't budge. It held up well to the wash but bled so be aware. The thread used to sew and/or the way the stitches are done makes them a little rough - my horse has been fine so far but I would have preferred them to be softer. There were some long threads that were easy enough to cut. Compared to similar hoods, it seems a little easier to put on due to the position of the zipper (sewn in, attaches to the face). All in all, it was worth the $35 I paid, but I wouldn't want to pay more.
