I have used this set on my 5.4 2V. I am very satisfied, I may have overtightened but I deformed a cam holder. So you need to block the cams before removing the timing chain to keep the cams from jumping around and pushing the valve into the piston. I've learned that once you remove the harmonic balancer and set the keyway at 12 o'clock, the entire piston is safe from the jumping cams. Thus, the use of locks to remove the heads is not required. I would recommend this method of removing the heads, if you don't you will need to remove the head screw under the lock. not a complete PITA, but a little. When reassembling I placed the cams where they belong and the harmonic balancer at 12:00. I then tightened the cap screws, installed the cam locks, and then rotated the crank COUNTER-CLOCKWISE about 15 degrees to install the crank lock tool. So it worked out fine, I'll probably straighten the cam carrier if I ever use it again, I hope I don't have to, at least on this engine.
