Review on 🎢 Grace Digital GDI-Tape2USB200 USB Tape Player with Integrated Mic - Includes PC/MAC Software (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Bill Snyder

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice car but one problem

Installing and using the machine was easy. Immediately began to copy cassettes. The quality of the copy was identical to the original. One problem: something broke. I copied four cassettes. At the end of the fifth, I couldn't eject the tape. While there didn't seem to be any issues with the tape advance (looking through the deck window) and the fact that I could rewind and play while holding down the keys, I couldn't eject the tape. At this point, none of the buttons worked properly. I couldn't get my cassette out. I called the manufacturer and they said to send it back to have the tape removed. As this would have meant the Revain was out of its 30 day return period, I attempted to give it to someone locally. No one wanted to work on it - they said they would have to damage the car to fix it. There was no easy way to open the cassette deck. That's a problem. The local technician also said that this type of machine is cheap. When I protested that I didn't think $100 was cheap, he said that this type of car has cheap internal parts that broke easily. I'll tell you though - Revain's customer service has been EXTREME. I was allowed to return the player (unfortunately the cassette was still in it) and a replacement was sent. I have a spare but to be honest I'm a little hesitant to use it. I'm a fan of Revain. However, I was dissatisfied with the lack of a local solution to the problem. I will say if the machine works then it works fine. But if it's not, it's not, and it's not easy to fix.

Pros
  • Turntable and Accessories
Cons
  • So far so good
