The collar is very soft and very comfortable. I was concerned it would be too stretchy and unreliable to control the dog. I tried it, the inner lining material is still very hard and only the outer layer is soft. Wearing it around the dog's neck will not harm the dog's skin and coat. It is very strong when pulling the leash, which allows you to effectively control the dog. They also sent a listing that glows fluorescently at night.
