Review on 🐠 Eshopps PF300 Aquarium Overflow Box - Ideal for Up to 75-Gallon Tanks by Rachel Cook

I bought this 50g display box with 20g bowl I wanted 300gph for maximum flow and ordered Quiet One 2200 for return. It hasn't arrived yet, so I picked up the Rio 2100 for temporary use, which flows almost perfectly at a head of 4ft (300gph). The box had no issues with the 2100 Wide Open Flow so I have little doubt it can do around 300gph. The overflow box itself works, though I can't say it works particularly well. The teeth are very large, the problem is twofold. First, it creates a lot of air bubbles that get sucked into the U-tube (which was popped out of the box, but I'll get to that later). With a decent flow it doesn't make a difference, but since I'm using an algae scrubber I had to reduce the return pump a bit to get the desired flow. To get it exactly the way I want it, bubbles will form in the U-tube which will eventually grow large enough to destroy the siphon. I'm willing to use slightly higher flow to prevent this, but this creates excessive noise (my biggest issue with this box). The large teeth themselves make a lot of noise, but the food in the pan is very noisy. At my current location I don't have any gurgling items so I have to order those and suffer from noise for a while (not the end of the world). You could definitely solve these problems with smaller tines on the surface skimmer and a better setup for the return. The U-tube arrived with a fairly large crack at the bend. The shipping box was significantly larger than the Eshops box and arrived in very good condition with no visible damage to the Eshops packaging, but the U-tube still had a tear. It's possible that someone didn't notice when it was boxed by Eshops, but it was in the box anyway. Although the tear does not seem to let air through, it was still frustrating to see a new product straight out of the box with an easily visible flaw. I'm going to order another U-tube and it really doesn't matter as it works, but apparently I was expecting too much. ), he was quiet compared to the eshops)
