Review on πŸ’¨ Unleash Speed and Performance with SanDisk Extreme 500 1TB Portable SSD (SDSSDEXT-1T00-G25) by Kristopher Tight

The USB connector on the SandDisk 3 SSD breaks VERY easily!

As a writer and photographer for a major magazine, I bought several of these to use in the field. They seemed perfect for what I was looking for. Small, strong, fast and safe. For the first time I got lucky with them. So much so that I bought three more. However, after about eight months of use, one of the connectors on the hard drive itself came out with a USB 3 cable when I unplugged it. I very rarely unplug the cable from the drive itself as I usually just leave the cable plugged in. The solder joint has dissolved inside the USB 3 connector on the hard drive. I blamed it on bad luck and moved on. But now it has happened again. Only this time it happened on a disc that had very important information and photos on it. I am attaching photos of the broken parts as well as the SSD drive itself. I found a workaround by taking it apart and disconnecting it from the three parts of the USB connector. I then used the E-Sata port and was able to recover my data. I'm starting to notice that the USB 3 connector part is extremely weak for such a reliable and enjoyable drive. I strongly recommend that you never unplug it once it's plugged in. I hope SanDisk fixes this and improves customer relationships. But since many people had the same problem, I hope this helps someone who might have the same problem, you can recover your data yourself by taking the hard drive part, unplugging the USB 3 part and plugging it into the E-Sata -connect connection .
