Made from durable materials with a heavy duty metal body. The sockets are placed close together to save space, which I like. The switch is covered to prevent accidental triggering and is easily accessible when triggering is required. The cord is 14 gauge three conductor cord with a 15 amp circuit breaker mounted on the metal body of the extension. I love every Tripp Lite product I buy in my life. I plugged the Tripp Lite into a 20 amp outlet with a circuit breaker. I then have an extension cord that goes to my car and feeds the Battery Tender charger from a Tripp Lite 15 amp splitter. So the Tripp Lite power strip sits between the car and the 20 amp outlet. I don't like having a 16 gauge wire extension on a 20 amp circuit breaker. The extension cord is now connected to a 15 amp machine. I'm not saying it's a code, it's safer that way, but I think it's in my head. I don't like 16 gauge extensions that go to the carport with a 20 amp switch almost 80 percent of the time. The circuit also has a GFIC in front of the Tripp Lite output. If you want something tough - get one of these. Although the outlets are close together. I have no problem with it at all for what I use it for.
