Review on Efficient Cooling Solution: HOLMES 16 Inch Oscillating Wall-Mountable Fan, Black (HMF1611A-UM) by Lindsey Jones

I now have a second Holmes Oscillating Wall Fan, Model # HMF1611A-UM. Why did I buy a second one when I only gave it 3 stars? On the plus side, I use it in my garage during a hot midwest summer and find it moves air efficiently without making too much noise. I like the oscillating feature. It mounts easily on the wall and is easy to assemble. I like it. In this case, the weak link is the 3-position "pull cord" switch. Be careful with this, because if you switch between modes too aggressively, the switch will fall apart. It seems it can be fixed but I was so disappointed in trying that I decided to just buy another fan. And when comparing competing brands and reading reviews, the Holmes HMF1611A-UM still seems to be the most durable and quietest. Even with a weak switch, if I can get 5 years of continuous use (like I did with the previous fan) I'll be fine. And this one is 5 years newer, who knows, maybe Holmes fixed the switch!
