I always pulled out my Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer for cake mixes and other light jobs. Aside from the whisky, that was all I needed. Everything is much easier and faster with this little guy. Easy to clean today. Faster deployment and easier disassembly. Sure, it doesn't have the power of my food processor, it doesn't make sausage, pasta or ice cream, but it's ok for light work. I have not tried dough hooks but I doubt their effectiveness and power. To be honest, style won me over. He just seems more masculine. It's not that I consider any culinary activity unmanly, but most hand mixers are definitely female. And many are named after women; Martha, Rachel, Betty, all great cooks (wait, Betty might just be a cookbook) but not very manly. I would take this to the patio grill to top off the barbecue sauce or to make a dessert. I think it won't look out of place on my desktop. Okay, maybe with a layer of dust and concrete on the cable, maybe with paint splatters on the case. There are no mixer blades that are too long, so be careful with 5-gallon buckets.
