Review on πŸ“Ά Enhance Your Mobile Network Coverage with High Gain 10dBi SMA Male Wide Band 3G/4G LTE Omni-Directional Outdoor Antenna by Eifagur by Michael Copeland

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Better than expected but this is how it connects (no splitter needed)

I only bought this to have an external antenna so I can put my LTE modem away from the window. I didn't get it for any signal strength improvement other than this. However, I have found that I generally get an improved signal depending on how I connect it. I connected it to Teltonika RUTX11. When I connected it to the main and auxiliary antenna connectors with a splitter, the signal was exactly the same. I didn't care as again I wasn't looking for signal enhancement. Then he thought and removed the splitter and just connected it directly to the main antenna connector. Noticed a slight jump in speed. I then hooked up an old antenna to the aux and this has resulted in the signal gain greatly improving both strength and upload/download speeds. With this particular modem, you need to make sure the secondary antenna is plugged in because most of the time it uses both. I disconnected this antenna from the auxiliary connector and used a different one just to make sure it wasn't causing the improvement. I've seen the same results; With only this external antenna plugged into the main jack the signal strength was essentially the same, but with another antenna of a different type plugged into the auxiliary jack the overall improvement was very noticeable. So I'm going to buy 3 more of these (another one for the aux connection and two more for another LTE modem I'm using). Update March 2021 Bought a second antenna for the RutX11 modem mentioned above and. Wow. Where I call my base, we are far from everything. the nearest Walmart is in the next state, the nearest hospital is in the next county, etc. To give you an idea of how far away that is, Verizon doesn't even offer a data signal here. Normal signal is one or two bars, average speed is around 15Mbps, download and upload speed is 2 or 3Mbps. Not bad where I am. It can jump up to 25 Mbps on a good day, but that's not always the case. With these two antennas connected, I get stable 3 bars, sometimes 4. My download speed stays at at least 35 Mbps, but the average seems to stay above 40 Mbps, and my upload speed is over 5 Mbps / s. This allows "normal" remote work without delay (also with VMWare). I'm glad I didn't have to pay hundreds of dollars for more expensive systems because that's all I need. Like any other system or antenna, it won't give you a signal where there isn't. However, it stabilizes a weak signal and turns it into a very strong signal. The original reason for getting an external antenna was to be able to take the modem out of the window (because the heat of the sun or the winter cold can damage them, not to mention window condensation that can build up on or in the modem and cause damage cause). While the splitter is good, I get amazing results with this inexpensive antenna without using a splitter and instead I just use two antennas on my modem. I have two modems so I'll buy two more for them and see what happens. VERY happy with this antenna!

Pros
  • Network antennas
Cons
  • Long wait
