Quality product: Avionics

I have used the adapter on 3 trips to the A321 with my Bose A20 and it works as advertised. The build quality seems to be good. It's everything I hoped for.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Good solution for those pesky Airbus equipped birds

I just upgraded to a 767 and noticed that some planes come with Airbus XLR connectors. I bought these so I don't have to wear those nasty telexes over my headphones. They work well and have a nice solid cork. No problem.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Alright

Great adapter for the bus!

I bought this unit to replace a lost one. I definitely appreciate the more compact size of this adapter! Rather than chasing two risers, this adapter has a single block for both plugs, which I find much easier to use. The connections are tight - no static electricity. I flew Airbus for 15 years. I recommend this adapter if you need it.

Pros
  • Impressive

The connection is interrupted

The adapter worked stably for about 3 months, then it started to fail. Now it's sporadic and the connection isn't serial. It works on some Airbuses, not on others. This occurs on both the Telex 850 and the Clarity Aloft, so it is not a headset issue. I have contacted the seller who said they would send me a replacement but I have not received anything yet.

  • If satisfied

May require cra for headsets and intercom

I have a 5X5 telex with a custom earpiece. I bought this item when I switched from Boeing to Airbus. This item works well as an adapter, but the volume is too loud. It has something to do with the Airbus Sound Control Panel or something, the volume is way too loud even with the volume knob turned all the way down. My solution was to cut a piece of eartip and insert it into the sound canal of a custom eartip.

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Almost never

Purchased on March 20th. Worked great on the A320 for about 60 days. Now I can hear, but the microphone doesn't work. I thought the problem was with the headphones and sent them in for warranty repair. They found no issues but replaced the entire headset anyway. The new headset has the same problem. The only similarity is the adapter. A replacement is required but this is the only way to contact the seller.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Ideal for converting your headset into an Airbus connector.

I have recently started flying an A320 and needed a way to convert my Telex 850 headset with twin (standard) connectors to an Airbus XLR connector. It was an economical solution that met all requirements. "Build quality seems good and it's not overly chunky. And of course it works great and does its job. I also appreciate the fact that the device comes with a different microphone boot and o-ring. I don't really need it, but thanks! If you're looking for an inexpensive way to convert a standardโ€ฆ
