We used these screws to secure the overlapping boards to a long wall, then sanded and varnished for a clean look. These bolts worked really well and allowed us to maximize the length of the board and we didn't have to worry too much about cutting to fit the bolts (like a drywall joint). Even a few screws in a cleat was enough for shorter boards and anything I could get with two cleats mounted easily up to 8 feet long. Despite the small profile, these are powerful screws that also made it easier to putty. Excellent purchase.
