Review on πŸ“ Accutire MS-4021B Digital Tire Pressure Gauge: Achieve Precise and Accurate Air Pressure Readings by Leonard Babers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly, but takes some getting used to - and now it has a wake-up button

Update 01/01/2018: The third sensor I bought has a different design than the first two! This latest purchase has a tiny black button just below the pressure port. When using the first two gauges, when you press (place on the tire) the gauge, the display "wakes up”. This newest does NOT wake up automatically; You have to press the little black button before anything appears. I haven't decided yet if it will be more or less comfortable. Maybe you do that to make the battery last longer? But now there is an additional moving part that can wear out or fail. Note that both designs will turn off automatically shortly after the pressure is removed. The first thing that strikes me is that they seem very light and flexible. It does not give such a significant impression as when using a brass dial gauge. But the geometry is good and it's easy to apply strong, straight pressure to the valve to get a good seal. Two things to get used to: 1. Reading is not instantaneous. You must hold the gauge under pressure for a second or two before the display will show a reading. Not as useful as instant feedback from a dial gauge.2. With the display on one side, it's almost impossible to read until you remove the gauge from the stem. If the display were up or at an angle to the natural position a person assumes when addressing a valve stem, it would be easier to read the information once registered. The fit seems to be very good. I've compared it to several other mechanical gauges of various types and it seems to give the best average of all.

  • Brilliantly done
