Amazing sensor if original

I bought a 2011 Accutire MS-4021B Digital Tire Gauge from Revain. I still use it on my 3 machines and it works great. I don't remember every time I changed the battery and left the pressure gauge in the car. I don't think Revain currently sells the original. I recognize that from the digital face. Plus Herst. It's not on their website so I wouldn't hesitate to buy this one. I've been using Accutire gauges for over 20 years, they make the best gauges, but I don't know what's going to happen toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Waiting too long

DIY Silicone Gasket

Many reviews have complained about the lack of rubber at the point of contact with the valve, leading to air leaks, erratic readings and general irritation. No longer. This thing works great with a DIY rubber gasket. Couldn't be happier. The air leak issue was fixed to the point that at first I even doubted my sensor was still working because the new found total silence was so unfamiliar and surreal. /rubber heads, cut off a thin piece of inner tube. See photos. Put it in the tube of thisโ€ฆ

  • Wow

Excellent pressure gauge

Just received and found a great pressure gauge. It's lightweight, feels comfortable to hold when measuring, and is just as accurate as the more expensive instruments I have. It is very easy to use and has no buttons. Simply place the tip on the tire valve and push forward until it seals tight. I like that you can position your thumb just behind the tip, making it easy to depress the valve with the right amount of pressure. The pressure is shown on a red backlit LED display. No need to wait forโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Very expensive

Engineers screw up good thing

I got this sensor for a second car as I had a previous sensor model for another car. The previous model was great; Accurate, easy to read and turns on instantly when the tire valve is pressed. Then someone decided to "improve" it by adding a button to turn it on. When pressed, it takes a second or two before it actually turns on. This is normal but it only burns for 15-16 seconds. So if you check the air in 4 tires and they are all a few pounds under, press the ON button, measure the pressureโ€ฆ

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • fading

Perfect precision with tire repair tools

My old-school equivalent of "pushing the push rod off center" gave me nonsensical results, 5 pounds different (low) than my 2013. Auto TPMS readings on dashboard. So a few days ago I bought two sensors from Revain, this one and a Tekton. It's winter in Minnesota (this morning's low is a single digit F) and that's when tire pressure really matters. Maybe a pound isn't important, but five pounds is. The Tekton, which I bought at the same time, is attractive and ergonomic, and worked well enoughโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Negative result present

Exactly, but takes some getting used to - and now it has a wake-up button

Update 01/01/2018: The third sensor I bought has a different design than the first two! This latest purchase has a tiny black button just below the pressure port. When using the first two gauges, when you press (place on the tire) the gauge, the display "wakes upโ€. This newest does NOT wake up automatically; You have to press the little black button before anything appears. I haven't decided yet if it will be more or less comfortable. Maybe you do that to make the battery last longer? But nowโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Brilliantly done
Cons
  • New competitors are here

Great! The best in tools and gear

Tire gauges are the most unattractive product imaginable, but this one feels like a premium piece of industrial design. Its appearance is just as attractive in your hand as it is in the photos on the Revain site. And in the best Bauhaus tradition "form follows function", it invites you to hold it in such a way that checking tire pressure becomes a simple one-touch operation. Unlike some mechanical gauges I've had in the past, this digital gauge makes it easy to get reliable readings the firstโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
