I don't use this mold for ice, I've used it for plaster and cement. My problems with mold is that it has no hallmarks. I did a few test casts to see which direction oriented best and although both are very close I made my own marks to see which sides align best. It's also not airtight at all, which is why I leaked a lot of stuff down the sides. It's hard to find a good way to fasten it together. Otherwise it's a fun little shape for fun little things. I've made drawers with it, and the fill holes were just right for screw insertion. I also made some magnets using only the front half of the mold. I think it works very well for ice, but there are probably a lot of leaks. .
