Great for casting

This is great! I work with resin that doesn't stick well to molds and they work great. They are flexible and rubbery so they pop right out. Candle making also works well with them because the jaw line is relatively flat and the hole at the top keeps the wick straight.

Pros
  • Solid surface
Cons
  • Damaged

Great molds work well for mold and ice cube trays

I used these molds to test Oreo truffles that will be part of my daughter's big cookie cake for her birthday. Her theme is Victorian Gothic. We'll use them to make the truffle skull floral centerpiece that surrounds it. I didn't add enough chocolate before adding the filling. The ones where the chocolate was thicker turned out great. I definitely recommend them if you are looking for small skull shapes.

Bad designers have leaky ice cream trays

ok i know everyone hates engineers but listen to me i'm an engineer designing plastic injection molded parts for my company and this silicone mold design is so dumb so much as possible. I've included a drawing/sketch of what the cavities SHOULD look like. As it is now, the water will overflow because the 2 cavities will not prevent water from escaping. Also, they were chipping/cracking due to the normal use of opening shapes to extract ice cubes. I think they were used about 5 times before I…

Disappointingly good for ice cube molds and trays

I really wanted it! But I was very disappointed. So you put the two pieces together and use a small funnel to fill the compartments with water through the small hole at the back. The problem is that the water does NOT stay in the skull compartment and fills the entire bowl causing the top to rise, then push it back and the water pours out from the top and you have to use a paper towel to soak up the excess. . Then after they're frozen it's difficult to even get them out of the tray, thought I'd

Works well - used for art casts

I don't use this mold for ice, I've used it for plaster and cement. My problems with mold is that it has no hallmarks. I did a few test casts to see which direction oriented best and although both are very close I made my own marks to see which sides align best. It's also not airtight at all, which is why I leaked a lot of stuff down the sides. It's hard to find a good way to fasten it together. Otherwise it's a fun little shape for fun little things. I've made drawers with it, and the fill…

  • Hands free

  • Very expensive
