I've tried so many cheap "deep scan" pocket electronic needle finders over the years and none of them have definitely found a thorn. At least not without 10 or more passes with multiple wrong readings or going into erroneous mode. This ProSensor T13 worked great right after putting in a few AA batteries. All the way to the wall and beyond you will see three lines indicating the presence of the stud. It's worth the price just to save me so much frustration and time trying to find a bolt when transferring a painting or putting something new on the wall.
