There were enough instructions, but the pictures were a bit small. The assembly is not difficult, you need a little patience. There is no need to force or coerce anything. I wasn't sure how well it would hold together once assembled, so I used standard consumer grade acetone to paint over the joints of the plastic. Holds Vallejo Model Color and Model Air cylinders very well. Standard Tamiya paint cans don't fit the holes at all, while the mini cans fit but are too short to see the label easily. The drawers are deep enough to store a variety of tools such as sharpening sticks, tweezers, brushes, tape, etc. I'm still building my workbench and don't know what else is out there. Overall it's a decent product, but $35 seems a bit steep for what it is.
