I make homemade wine and love the idea. Silicone hoses I can cook! You no longer have to wonder if my sanitizer touches every inch of the hose! Just boil it up. After running the water through the pipe several times, I boiled it in well water. It's much easier and cheaper than a disinfectant. I also use the stainless steel funnel I bought from Revain because it can also be boiled. The fewer chemicals I have to use, the better. Currently I only have to use chemical sanitizers on a primary plastic fermentation bucket, hydrometer and soaking plugs - sluices.
