Review on Efficient Cudy 8 Port PoE+ Switch with 2 Uplink Ports 120W: Extend/VLAN Mode, Fanless, 802.3af/at, Watchdog – Plug & Play FS1010P by Joseph Harkins

Good POE switch, Cudy FS1010P 8+2 port 100Mbps Ethernet PoE

The POE switch has been working for several weeks, it doesn't feel any heat, which is good. Like the other comment mentioned here, the included power cord was neutral and reverse connected, and the power cord was also a bit short. Not sure if there is a difference when the power cord is connected this way. It uses a standard computer power cord that I had on hand, so I threw away the one that came with it and used a longer cord that connected the normal way. The POE cameras work well with this switch. Also connect the ethernet cable to the old laptop and to the POE port to see if powering the POE ports will damage the old laptop. It worked without damage. Then it is best to connect the network cable to the laptop and to the POE port, it also worked fine. I don't know if the power cord that the switch came with also allows the laptop to be plugged into the POE port without damage as I didn't use the cable that came with it. Also, the activity or link LEDs are very small and are located below where the 8 POE network cables connect to the switch, so they are not very visible when all cables are connected. Overall, it cuts a good figure and can be recommended or bought later.

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
