Switches are good for the price

Switches are good for the price. The 5 stars I'm giving is to help compensate everyone else who doesn't understand how networking gear works. *** There is a save link in the top right corner of the admin page. I rebooted, updated the firmware and also had a power outage the night I got 2 of these and they didn't lose any settings because I saved the settings and also backed up the config files. Please see the picture I uploaded *** In general I am satisfied. I will either write another review…

Good fully featured switch at a great price

After setting up the switch it still worked pretty well. Based on other reviews, I was expecting the switch to reset its configuration during a software update, so up to this point I've only configured it minimally. Since then, the switch has been working quietly and reliably. Regarding manageability, I understand that the separation between the "Monitor" and "Configuration" views is necessary to provide different roles, but the distribution of configuration functions and port information has…

So far, so good. at Computers & Accessories

So I got this switch TODAY. This is the GS1900-48 version. I needed a few more ports as I was running a few more CAT6 cables around the house and there wasn't enough room for my 24-port switch. It was also a Zyxel switch. So my top 3 things to look for were #1 a managed switch, #2 a good price, and #3 required to fit in my wall rack, the 13.5" Deep MAX is. This switch suits me in all of those areas. Having little experience with the Zyxel managed switch, I basically got it up and running pretty

Pros
  • Nice Packaging
Cons
  • No Vending Machine

I bought it with my own money and have not received any compensation or other reward for this review in any way. As a "power" home user, the managed switch was at the top of my list. I spent some time researching value for money for my market segment and this router kept coming up. I am completely satisfied with my purchase. I bought this to replace a rather noisy Tenda TEG1024 switch. This switch is completely silent. No fans, no heat issues when installed in a 25U rack. Pros: Easy to set up…

So far so good, with a big catch

This seems to be a really reliable router, but a few weeks after I took it over, I started having strange problems. I've been getting some weird and random results with devices on the network not connecting properly. There were all sorts of DHCP errors after running some network analysis tools, but they were really random and would go away and then come back, which is very strange. Mind you, I had a fairly stable network before replacing this master switch, I was immediately skeptical of this…

Surprised how many features you get for this price

Wow. Let me start by buying this switch as my "master switch" at home. I will be replacing the basic 8 port unmanaged gigabit switch I am currently using. I was very surprised at the build quality of this switch when I took it out of the box. It's a lot heavier than expected and even rackmount ears are included in the box. The power supply is also integrated, so you don't have to deal with a useless wall. As soon as I looked at the web interface, I was even more shocked at how many options this

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

Lots of features but relatively easy to use

I'm not an IT professional. I actually bought this switch for one reason: I wanted to enable link aggregation on my ReadyNAS, my QNAP, and my Mac Pro. Each of these devices has two Gigabit Ethernet ports and supports link aggregation. Running a TimeMachine backup of an 800GB drive over a single Gigabit Ethernet cable to each of two NAS units was getting tedious, so I looked for a switch that supported LACP 802.3ad. I had a couple of other requirements: 1. The overall width must not exceed 10…

This is a first review of the GS1900-8 and GS1900-24E switches. As I'm adding these switches to my network and spending a few weeks using them, I'll update this review. I bought these switches to replace some of the old unmanaged Netgear switches I used to connect my Sonos players and video streaming devices to my computer. LAN. I wanted managed switches to support STP (Spanning Tree Protocol), control each port, and use SNMP. These switches hit the spot in terms of features and price, and have
