Review on Zyxel 24 Gigabit Managed Rackmount GS1900 24E by Nuntawat Bridges

I bought it with my own money and have not received any compensation or other reward for this review in any way. As a "power" home user, the managed switch was at the top of my list. I spent some time researching value for money for my market segment and this router kept coming up. I am completely satisfied with my purchase. I bought this to replace a rather noisy Tenda TEG1024 switch. This switch is completely silent. No fans, no heat issues when installed in a 25U rack. Pros: Easy to set up. Intuitive user interface (after firmware update) Quiet. Absolutely silent. Visual indicators when ports are busy processing packets SFP+ ports Cons: None for my use at this time. It might be nice to have 2 more SFP+ ports. I use this switch to move workloads between my NAS (2 connected 1Gbps copper ports), my two Cisco blade servers (4 connected 1Gbps copper ports), and my Dell T410 (2 connected 1Gbps /s copper ports) ) ). ). I plugged my house into all Cat 6 outlets and this switch fits perfectly. QoS works well, VLANs work exactly as described, and the interface is simple enough to use without CCIE certification. QoS setup was simple and straightforward. After adding the required ports to the appropriate sections of the QoS interface, I get very fast buffering of 4K streams on multiple of my 4K TVs. requires some internal serial pin manipulation. It's not that important since what I need to do can be done through the web interface. I look forward to adding new ZyXEL products to my home rack.
