Review on Zyxel 24 Gigabit Managed Rackmount GS1900 24E by Reynaldo Guzman

So far, so good. at Computers & Accessories

So I got this switch TODAY. This is the GS1900-48 version. I needed a few more ports as I was running a few more CAT6 cables around the house and there wasn't enough room for my 24-port switch. It was also a Zyxel switch. So my top 3 things to look for were #1 a managed switch, #2 a good price, and #3 required to fit in my wall rack, the 13.5" Deep MAX is. This switch suits me in all of those areas. Having little experience with the Zyxel managed switch, I basically got it up and running pretty quickly. But I'm still working on my new wall rack setup. Maybe I'm not ready by the end of the week.Hope.To include some photos of the finished results and what I have in mind for the final results.Changed from my original setup with a few main shelves in my small closet to an 8U Wall shelf setup. My old Zyxel GS1910-24 switch had several features such as a built in VeriPHY that checks all attached network cables for problems. I didn't understand why it showed a lot of shorts. I ha I've tested every connection and made sure everything shows up perfectly on my FLUKE network tester. Again on my old Zyxel, it should still show some shorts and an anomaly elsewhere. I do not understand. My Fluke Network Tester says everything is perfect but Zyxel says it's not?!?!?! Before doing anything with my network I had a streaming issue and changing the ports fixed it so it worked for testing. But I still wish this new Switch had that capability. I'll post a future review and some photos when I get my home network done and get to know this switch a little better.
