Use this to fasten a sail on a sailing boat. I have a catboat that has a very long jib compared to the mast height, so I use about 7 or 8 berths. I cut them long enough to wrap the sail twice and the denim fabric has enough friction that a simple loop at the top is all I need to attach the tie. There are no problems with color washing out. Natural cotton works much better than nylon, which is slippery and requires a more secure knot, making it difficult to untie at times. I like how it works, I used the remaining length to tie parasols, power cords etc to buy another roll.
