I was very hesitant to buy a recorder. I thought about it many years ago but thought it would be a waste to listen again to the 2 hour lectures BUT with the "T-Mark" button that allows me to "mark" part of the recording, I can easily skip all other things to the things I thought were important. I especially like that I can also T-mark after the shot has been taken and I've reviewed it. The sound quality of this recorder is excellent and the noise cut function is a great help when listening with headphones. Especially since I tend to move a lot of paper around during a lecture. I also really like that you can record to different folders and go back to where you left off if you pause the recording. Speed control is good too, if the person said something too fast you don't have to sit down and try to figure it out. Although I have yet to try it, I'm really looking forward to getting things on my computer. I really like that this feature is there and you can also use a memory card for the transfer. I like that it has a little "stand" so it doesn't have to lie flat during recording (reduces noise). The recorder also saves battery power by turning itself off after about 1 minute of non-use (no playback/recording/delete). You can just put it on hold if you need to take a step back for a short time to say things like: B. to make a quick phone call or go to the toilet. Overall a great product, lightweight, easy to use and comes with a carry case. Although it's a little over the price range for all the recorders I've reviewed here on Revain, it's worth the investment if you plan on using it for a long period of time. *UPDATE* - Been using it for about 6 months with no problems. Sounds great on playback and comes in handy after a LONG day of multi-class lectures. Sometimes I listen to the radio in the car instead. If you ever find yourself transferring one of the MP3 files to your computer and it's a 6 hour file that you forgot to split, there is a program I use called Slice Audio File Splitter. It can be downloaded for free from CNET. This allows you to choose how many parts you want to split the file into, or you can split it into any amount of time. I also use this for audio books that I listen to on my MP3 player. Hope that helps!
