What Grandma Used

Finally found it's the material that Grandma's housekeeper used to keep her family's silver collection clean. I don't have a goddamn housekeeper, but this thing works great with the only good thing I could inherit. This requires elbow grease, and as mentioned in a previous post, it's best to cover the piece with the blackest part of the fabric on the hard-to-remove area of the silver piece. I have no idea why this works, but it works. Use in a well-ventilated area and wear disposable surgical gloves. It stinks to high heaven and if you don't wear gloves your hands might burn like mine did at first. In addition, it is difficult to remove the substance from your hands unless you are wearing gloves, and your hands become very dry when they come into contact with your skin. It has the best real silver finish of all the dozens of products I've used on my sentimental sweetheart from my grandmother's house over the years.

Pros
  • Works with porous and non-washable items such as wood, cork and felt
Cons
  • So far so good
