Indeed, that gets 3.5 stars, but let's round it up. For it to be a 5 star product it also has to (IMHO) have the following attributes: a> the eye-catching design and improved looks of PURO branded headphones... However, this may not be a fair comparison as only PURO makes headphones, that support Bluetooth; b> softer/thicker ear pads and the ability to purchase additional ones to order; c> offer colored "skins" for purchase, so there's more than just black as the only option. But kids (9 and 11 years old) seem to find them comfortable enough. From my point of view, it looks and feels like a $20 product, although it works - somewhat flimsy and aesthetically muted. On the other hand, there aren't many dual-channel IR phones in the Revain space. An added bonus here is that the earbuds "fold" to save space; You can adjust the length of the headband (to fit both an adult's head and a child's head, although the adult earbud is a bit small); and there's an auto shut off feature (which I haven't actually tested but read in the description) so you'll have lots of "double sawing" fun. Although I do wish it came with some sort of tote bag. What about volume levels? Well I bought these IR headphones because I just installed a DVD system in my car's headrest. Using the tiny DVD speakers in the headrests and cranking the volume all the way up (to setting #15) I'd say the maximum volume is around 65dB. If you connect headphones via the supplied 3.5 mm headphone jacks, the volume that can be heard is 65 dB. Even if you move the volume control/knob on the headphones, the volume remains constant at 65 dB. Strange right? Thus, when using the headphone jack, the decibel level remains constant and equal to the decibel level of the DVD speaker volume. But you're buying this for its IR capabilities. And it works as expected. If the DVD headrest setting is set to "IR A" and your headphones are switched to channel A, you have a wireless connection; If the DVD headrest setting is set to "IR B" and your headphones are switched to channel B, you have a wireless connection. Interestingly, when connected wirelessly, you can adjust the volume with the volume control on the headrest. You can dial it down to 0 decibels. But oddly, you can tune it up to the point where I think you're in the 100dB range. Therefore, you may need to control what volume your children are listening to as your children may be adjusting to an unsafe listening volume. sound quality? It is excellent. UPDATE REVIEW January 14, 2021 - The battery cover is not intuitive to open. Although this group has a YouTube video on how to open the battery cover, please ignore it.
