We got this earlier in the summer when temperatures in the Pacific Northwest were supposed to be very hot in July and August (we got this after a heat wave). wave at the end of June). The unit's exhaust duct fits easily in our 2 foot wide window. It's as attractive as a big white box. However, those high temperatures didn't really materialize, so we didn't really get a chance to test the cooling performance. We felt really cool air coming out of the unit and felt it did a good job of cooling the 600 square feet of our top floor. We also have a basement in our house that gets damp in the winter. We have had a dehumidifier for many years and ended up gifting it to our daughter. We need a new one for the ground floor and look forward to the effectiveness of this unit this winter in keeping the humidity levels in this space at an acceptable level. ADVANTAGES - As well as a remote control that simplifies control from anywhere in the area. - Easy construction. Outlet in the window that can be opened - Attractive, smooth look - DeLonghi is a quality brand - Many functions in one device are nice: cooling, dehumidification even without cooling and air filtering. CONS - Potential: Our former dehumidifier (and one specifically designed to perform this function) had an integrated tank to store water taken from the air. We drained the water every few days and everything was fine. There is no such function in this block. To remove moist air, you need to use an exhaust duct attached to the window. Time will tell if this is a good long-term solution.
