Purchased for use exclusively with Windows-based laptops for the purpose of listening to music. Indeed, I felt terrible about it. Sound on the computer is comparable to that of plugs costing $100 on alik (high frequencies are sanded). As Windows does not support the aas codec, it is likely that the sbc codec on their end is misconfigured, making everything worse. Just sbc or aptx, neither of which fits in headphones given that huawei and qualcomm are at strife over the aptx codec. But, I have a different set of headphones that cost only a third as much, and while they too use the sbc codec under Windows, the audio quality is ten times better. I plugged them into a different computer just to make sure, and I even borrowed some comparable headphones from a friend to compare, but they all had the same dingy, flushing sound. When using a phone, the volume levels are fine. In a nutshell, if you plan on having someone listen to them on a Windows computer, I wouldn't recommend bringing them along.
