Review on Muskoka Curved Front Mount Fireplace Black by Greg Peitz

I love these heaters as space heaters and for atmosphere. The slim profile against the wall is a really nice perk, allowing you to place it almost anywhere you can find space and giving off enough heat for a good sized room. But the last one lasted two years, almost a day. Since it is only used in winter, it has a lifespan of about one year. The previous one lasted 3-4 years but I was in a much warmer climate so it was less useful. Again probably about a year of life. The first (slightly different model) failed because the overheating switch had burned out. This protection is necessary for the operation of the device and I didn't see a way to fix it, so I bought the model shown here. The second was crackling and smoking the same way when I turned it on last week, so I'm guessing it's the same failure mechanism, but I'm too busy to investigate these days. I will probably buy another one because the matching fittings are already mounted on the wall and we desperately need heating in this room in the winter. But I can't say it's a lot at this price point for a year of use.
