Review on Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera with Auto Focus-S Nikkor Zoom Lens (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Krisha Thakur ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A practical product, nothing to complain about.

first mirror. range of use - photo shoots for friends, concerts, travel, subject photography of their jewelry. Bought complete with kit 18-105. I saved on the carcass, got a decent lens, arguing that a good lens will remain for a long time, and the carcass, if I take a close look at photography, will still need to be changed. I clicked about four thousand frames in two months from the purchase. Despite everything, I am satisfied with my kit, having exhausted the 3100 carcass, I will save up for the d90 or d7000))))

Pros
  • Kit price. I got it for 15 kopecks along with glass 18-105. I don’t feel sorry for the money at all, with its shortcomings it has a bunch of advantages and, most importantly, the difference between pictures and even good soap dishes in a positive way. Compactness - in a relatively small bag I fit almost the entire box set, a carcass with a lens, an additional Helios 44-2 lens, flash drives, rags, and even small props for shooting plus personal items (phone, tablet, cigarettes, keys), and a bag - something only 30x20x20 cm, a tripod is also hung on top of it. Guide for beginners. The instruction manual is gathering dust at home, the guide is its analogue and even better. I don’t shoot in auto modes, but at first I was looking for tips on exposure and focusing. everything is exposed with a bang" A set of tools for processing "on the spot". used D-liting, bw, crop. There are still a huge number of tools that will come in handy for filter lovers, but I'm used to post-processing on the monitor. Ergonomics is very pleasing, it sits in my hand, I almost blindly set the parameters, I assigned ISO to the function button, the menu remembers the last item used - usually it's white balance, so the camera is set up in 10-20 seconds.
Cons
  • Firstly, I noticed that the screen is lying, or I have trouble calibrating my home monitor. The first photo session in the sun came out completely illuminated, I had to "draw" on the most successful shots, because it's a pity. On the screen, when magnified, it looked acceptable, the monitor showed a lot of nasty things. I don’t know what to calibrate and how to do it in the case of a camera screen. Secondly, the concerts lack light and speed. I twist the aperture to the maximum, turn it up to 800 iso (it’s no longer possible because of the noise), if there is not enough light (this happens most often), I have to slow down the shutter speed and the musicians’ arms and legs begin to smear. Because of the objects in motion, the tripod does not help, I am waiting for the ordered puff, I really hope that I will solve this problem. Thirdly, this video. Focus smears, even when you show him the focus point on the screen, the sound is disgusting and you can’t wind up the microphone. For video, this DSLR can not be used in any way, Fourthly, in live view mode, the focus is not famous at all, if you shoot from above, only the silhouette is visible on the screen at an angle, and it is difficult to judge how blurry it is. I would add a rotary screen to it, I regret that I did not accumulate up to 5100. Fifthly, budgetary Soviet optics are installed, which one with adapters. which without, BUT! Due to Nikon's long working distance, sharpness will not even be set at any focal length. For example, for Helios 44-2, this will be a distance of 0.5 to 2 meters, and taking into account the fact that the glass is planted on a crop, with this distance you can shoot either very small objects or very large portraits, up to the chest. Other companies don't have this problem.
